Enticing Chianti Classico

Castello Di Ama

2015 Chianti Classico 'Ama'

Warren at home.
Tuscany has long been a DouxVin go-to favorite for one of our most-loved varietals—Sangiovese. Few red wines promote the relaxed pleasure derived from a top-notch Chianti Classico. To be able to relax over a summer barbecue with a 90+ point wine from an artisanal producer like Castello di Ama, provides a respite from daily pressure and stress. And as this offer represents such a terrific value, this an opportunity not to be missed.

Castello di Ama sits 12 miles northeast of Siena in the hills of Gaiole. This is the heart of Chianti Classico, a bucolic rolling landscape of woods, vineyards and olive groves. The property is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Marco Pallanti and Lorenza Sebasti. Over the last quarter century they have replanted all of the vineyards and upgraded all of the winemaking capabilities to make this one of Tuscany’s showcase producers.

My 2015 AMA Chianti Classico

2015 Chianti Classico “Ama”

Raspberry and cherry flavors are immediate in this elegant, balanced red, followed by accents of earth and spice. … well-proportioned. Drink now through 2022.

Unique Offer: 2015 Produttori del Barbaresco Single Cru Collector Case

Barbaresco 9P 2020 Copy
Produttori del Barbaresco Single Cru Collector Case
Once in a while, we get the opportunity to showcase something extraordinary for our clients. Produttori del Barbaresco, hailing from Piedmont, Italy, produces big, bold Nebbiolos and Barbarescos and is one of the most sought after wine cru collectives in the world.

In great vintages only, nine single vineyards are produced and released after four years under the Riserva program. These wines are produced from a selection of grapes sourced from nine historical premium sites within the Barbaresco village boundaries. Historical vineyards, known for centuries for producing high quality grapes and now worldwide famous also thanks to the Produttori del Barbaresco legacy. Their names are Asili, Montefico, Montestefano, Muncagota, Ovello, Pajè, Pora, Rabajà, Rio Sordo.

First released in 1967, they are vinified and aged with exactly the same style in order to show their different personalities at their best and purest form. A tasting of the nine"Produttori Crus" is therefore an unique experience, just like a walk through the hills of Barbaresco can be!
Warren and Aldo
I’ve been privileged to share these single crus over the past several vintages with Winery CEO, Aldo Vacca; a Piedmont legend and extraordinary guide and educator.
DouxVin is proud to be able to offer an extremely rare case offering of all nine Crus. With each Cru having received great scores from the industry’s top critics (94-97 Points), you will add to your cellar one of the best overall collections of Barbaresco in years. Arguably the best red wine values in the world.

Legendary Lail

Lail Vineyards

Lail Blueprint Cabernet & Sauvignon Blanc Collection 6-Pack

Robin Lail is a legend in Napa hailing from one of the most storied and famous historical families in the Valley, dating back to 1879 when her great -granduncle, the iconic Captain Gustave Niebaum founded Inglenook. Robin grew up among the vineyards of Inglenook, pioneers of fine winemaking in the Napa Valley. Inglenook was passed down to Robin’s grandfather and then to her father, John Daniel Jr., a true innovator (he was the first to put ‘Napa Valley’ on his labels and pioneered varietal labeling) and wine industry leader who produced legendary wines.
Robin Lail
Robin was recently featured on the cover of Wine Spectator Magazine’s May 2020 Issue. A terrific story, well worth the time to read—ideally with a glass of Lail Cab or SB on hand.
Sauvignon Blanc
2018 Blueprint Sauvignon Blanc
“The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc, from vineyards in Yountville and Coombsville, was barrel fermented in 30% new French oak and aged in stainless steel. It opens with beautiful peach blossoms, fresh green apples and lemonade notes with touches of lime leaves, coriander seed and paraffin wax. Medium-bodied, refreshing, elegant and with impressive intensity, the palate delivers impactful citrus and savory layers with a zesty kick to the finish.”

90 points Wine Advocate

Cabernet Sauvignon
2017 Blueprint Cabernet Sauvignon
“A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot from a multitude of vineyards, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueprint reveals a saturated purple color as well as classic notes of blackcurrants, tobacco, damp earth, chocolate, and hints of new leather. Beautifully balanced, medium to full-bodied, ripe, and textured, it's a smoking good, affordable effort well worth seeking out. It will evolve for 10-15 years or more.”

The Best CA Pinot & Chard Secret

“What is the most overlooked terroir in California? It’s a question I am asked often. The answer is always the same: The Santa Cruz Mountains. These rugged hillsides just south of San Francisco are home to some of the world’s greatest vineyards and wines."

California’s Best Kept Secret, Vinous Media
Mindego Ridge winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains is one of DouxVin’s absolute go-to sources for amazing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Elegant wines that age beautifully, at prices that are well below their market value. Meticulous care of the vineyards, where very shoot on every vine is touched many times during the growing season – pruning, training, lateral removal, fruit thinning, and every other aspect of vine maintenance is performed by hand. Mindego Ridge implements a comprehensive farming program to achieve optimal vine health and fruit quality, adopting best practices from organic, sustainable and biodynamic farming disciplines.
Mindego Ridge
We are pleased to be able to offer a discounted 6-Pack collection that includes two bottles each of the extraordinary and highly-regarded 2016 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, as well as the 2018 Rosé of Pinot Noir – which is not typically offered outside of the tasting room.

This wonderful Mindego Ridge 6-Pack contains two bottles of each:

2016 Mindego Ridge Chardonnay
100% estate grown, with only about 340 cases produced. 15% new oak, 75% neutral oak and 10% stainless steel aging, provide wonderful layers to the wine, while allowing the beautiful fruit to express itself. Medium-bodied and elegantly textured with green apple, white peach and pear flavor profiles.

Pinot Noir
2016 Mindego Ridge Pinot Noir
100% estate grown, single vineyard Pinot Noir from the 8.7 acre home vineyard. Made in small lots by non-interventionist methods – hand sorting, native yeast fermentation, hand punch downs. Aged for 11 months in ¼ new, ¾ neutral French oak. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Beautiful drinkability now, with exciting cellaring potential. Only 640 cases produced.

95 points Jeb Dunnick

2018 Mindego Ridge Rosé of Pinot Noir
This item is very limited. Only 77 total cases were produced. Fresh and vibrant, offering flinty mineral notes layered with rose petal, hints of strawberry, watermelon, and a delightfully bright finish. The perfect way to kick off a special day.
