Sean Toomey, President, Silicon Valley Wine Society, invites you to join us for the first Silicon Valley Wine Society event for 2020. Sean has chosen our theme for the year as Old World and New World illustrative tastings. We will visit the world’s benchmark regions to explore and compare varietals, paired with amazing preparations from The Capital Club's Chef Roger. Each lunch or dinner this year will feature a varietal compared from an Old World (Europe) and a New World (everywhere else) counterpart. This will be a fun way to learn why a wine from France tastes different than a wine from California, for example. Our first event of the year will compare Chardonnay from Burgundy and Sta. Rita Hills, Pinot Noir from Burgundy and Sonoma and Syrah from the Northern Rhone and the Central Coast of California - a very classic comparison.
