Another exclusive DouxVin experience is ahead. Guided by Master Sommelier, Gillian Ballance, we are proud to present the best wines of one of the most famous names of the wine world; Australian icon and legend: Penfolds, including wine from their new California Project.
Since 1844, Penfolds has been producing some of the most remarkable wines from Down Under. Instrumental in the development of Australian fine wine in the modern era, Penfolds struck gold with the introduction of Grange in 1951 - a wine that will forever be known as the most iconic of Australian icons and one of the most collectable wines in the world.
Penfolds imported heritage vine cuttings from their most esteemed South Australian vineyards and planted them in California soil, a project 20 years in the making. The California Collection debuted earlier this year, meaning you could be one of the first to have the opportunity to try these wines side by side.
We will taste though Penfold’s past and present, including the rare and iconic Grange and the debut of Quantum, Penfolds’ California showcase wine and a Napa legend in the making. Penfolds’ venture into California, an endeavor more than 20 years in the making, will be further explored with a tasting of “Wines of the World”, a blend of wine from both countries, from the inaugural vintage of the California Collection.
The tasting will include 8 amazing wines, accompanied by a perfectly paired multi-course meal prepared by the French Club’s amazing Chef Lionel Balbastre.
